Most of our Artisan bread is best enjoyed the day it is baked, aside from a few rye varieties which actually improve with a little “aging.” With proper care, however, you can get the most out of all of our breads for up to four days or more, if frozen.

To retain your bread’s fresh crisp crust for up to 24 hours, we recommend storing it under a linen on a cutting board or in a bread box at room temperature. Once the bread is cut, turn it cut side down on the board to retain its moisture. To restore the fullest flavor of your bread, place it directly on the middle rack of your oven and crisp at 400 degrees for 4 to 6 minutes.

All of our Artisan breads freeze well when wrapped securely in a plastic freezer bag. To retain your bread’s moisture allow it to completely defrost in the bag before refreshing in your oven at 400 degrees for 4 to 8 minutes. In fact, I always keep a Challah or Cinnamon Raisin loaf in my freezer for french toast, a few eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and a spot of half and half (or eggnog, YUM) and you have a delicious breakfast…even when you’re caught off guard by unexpected guests.

Thank you for loving our bread as much as we love baking it for you!
